CNO's insurance subsidiaries provide life insurance, annuity and supplemental health insurance products to more than four million customers in the United States. Agents in all fifty states utilize a portal that provides the information and tools needed for the day-to-day activities of an insurance agent.

Challenge: Internal Team Struggling to Meet Project Deadline

The portal was built on technology that would no longer be supported, and it had to be migrated to a new platform. The migration was extensive and the new portal needed to be delivered on-time for a smooth end user transition.

CNO purchased Liferay EE edition for its new portal platform and an internal team began the migration project.  Due to the complexities of the project and the tight deadline, the team needed assistance from Liferay experts.


Dunn Solutions, a Platinum Liferay Partner, was selected to provide development assistance and mentorship.  A Sr. Dunn Solutions Consultant worked onsite alongside the internal team and guided the development of the platform, while mentoring the internal team on best practices.

The migration was successful and the new portal was launched on-time, as planned.  Agents use their new and improved portal to look up information; access documents, news and marketing materials; take training courses and exams; run reports; and look up their commissions, insurance policy details and customer information, in addition to man other activities.
