Chicago-based Warranty Group is the world's leading single-source provider for the underwriting, administration and marketing of warranty service contracts. The company's insurance retailers which include auto, consumer electronics, medical device, fitness equipment, power tool, appliance and home system retailers utilize a portal to quote and manage consumer claims. The portal was in the midst of an important upgrade project that was moving slower than expected due to the limited availability of Warranty Group's internal resources, and the company was under pressure to complete it.

Challenge: Warranty Group Seeks Consulting Partner

Warranty Group was in need of a consulting partner with JAVA and Liferay resources who could lead and complete the project with a limited budget.  Dunn Solutions was selected for its solution that featured a dedicated On-Shore/Off-Shore Team model led by a Senior Consultant onsite in Warranty's Chicago office.


The Team consisted of four Chicago-based consultants and seventeen Bangalore, India-based consultants, whose work was thoroughly reviewed by the Sr. Consultant in Chicago, ensuring that the source code was correct and met programming standards.

Result: Dunn Delivers Completed Claims Portal

The On-Shore/Off-Shore model was economical and allowed the Dunn Team to complete the portal upgrade more quickly than the Warranty team could have done on its own. In addition, Dunn's management of the project freed Warranty's resources to instead work on other important projects.
